The Saudi Arabian government has executed an Ethiopian
housemaid for the murder of her employer's daughter which occurred three years
ago after being convicted.
In a statement issued by the Interior Ministry on Monday,
September 26, the ministry noted that execution was carried out following an
endorsement of the death sentence by the king.
The convict reportedly confessed to stabbing her
six-year-old ward to death in June 2013 in an alleged retaliation for the
ill-treatment she suffered at the hands of her employers.
Saudi Arabia is reported to have imposed the death
penalty for murder, armed robbery, banditry, rape, drug-trafficking and
witchcraft.
