JAMB Plans For Candidates To Do Future UTME At Home

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Examination Board (JAMB) has hinted of plans to have the tertiary institutions entry examination written by candidates from their places of residence across the country.

The board spokesman, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, made this disclosure while featuring on a radio current affairs program, Day Break Show, yesterday in Abeokuta.

“We are thinking of open book examinations or allowing them write the examination from their houses. Once we get the required technology, we can do it,” he declared.

On challenges facing the board, particularly in the ongoing UTME, the JAMB spokesman said, “At any point if there is an issue, we find a way to solve it to ensure all candidates write the UTME with convenience.”

He said the results of the exam would be delayed as there was need to preview them before they were eventually released.

“Once a candidate clicks submit, the result is ready but we wait to preview the results before releasing so we don’t cancel results later. You can detect malpractice even after exams.”

An ICT expert, Damilola Oyeshola, who commented on the idea of tertiary institutions entry examination being taken by candidates from their homes, said the challenge of IT infrastructure in the country would make the idea difficult to implement.

“One of the challenges we have with the UTME computer-based test is how to use computers by the candidates,” Oyeshola said, stressing that there was need for more technology integration particularly in the hinterland for the board to succeed in conducting the UTME for candidates in their respective homes.

The video has sparked outrage online. See some response to the video below.
There Is Nothing You Can Do To Those Maid That Will Plase Them …Even Creche workers can be so wicked ..I’ve seen where an elderly woman working at a creche beated a boy years old boy as if she beaten 17 years ..It only God that can take total control of all this

My (lazy) aunt lost her 2 boys and nanny in a fuel explosion because she refused to turn the fuel her husband bought into the generator, instead she sent her uneducated Nanny that doesn’t know that fire and fuel are enemies. seriously it’s not easy but if we can try managing our homes ourselves, we would have less of these stories even though some of them are naturally wicked and never satisfied. If you want a child nanny please treat her like your own or else do the chores yourself.

Buhari Rejects Electoral Act Amendment

President Muhammadu Buhari has rejected the amendment to the Electoral Act, which intended to change the country's elections sequence. The president, it was gathered, gave three reasons for withholding assent to the bill, which was passed by both chambers of the National Assembly.

Sources said that the president has yesterday communicated his decision to the federal legislature in two separate letters addressed to the Senate President Bukola Saraki and Speaker Yakubu Dogara. The two presiding officers are expected to read the letters to their colleagues at plenary between today and Thursday. Following the passage of the bill by the National Assembly, several civil society organizations (CSOs), senior lawyers and other notable Nigerians kicked against it, calling on the president not to assent to it.

'If I was at the point where I could get an STI, doctors have already been involved. That is how much of a germaphobe I am.'
'I am not in a relationship. I am making it clear that I have not had sex in a very long time. I would like to have a relationship, you know. It is hard out there.

Fashion or madness! Thong jeans debuts at Tokyo's fashion week and Twitter is not impressed

Thong Jeans are one of the newest fashion trends but people are not feeling it at all.

The eccentric fashion trend made a debut during Tokyo’s fashion week. The "Thibaut" jeans were created by Japanese designer Meiko Ban. A pair was worn on the runway by a model in a nude bodysuit, which was visible under the ripped pants.

The jean exposed more than it covered and was ripped up to the crotch area. The unusual design left social media users unimpressed and many were quick to comment on the bizarre new fashion item.

"This is the most impractical and ugliest thing I’ve ever seen...would never wear it," one Twitter user wrote.
