“Some Men Pay Extra Money To Have Sex With Abuja Postitutes Without Condom”

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Agency for Control of HIV/AIDS (FACA) said it distributed seven million condoms to FCT

The Project Manager of the agency, Dr Uche Okoro, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in an interview in Abuja on Saturday.

Okoro said that beneficiaries consisted of those vulnerable to the condition like commercial sex workers and homosexuals.

He further said that FACA carried out intensive training for those prone to HIV/AIDS infection on the importance of the use of condoms, consistently, while having sexual intercourse.

“Some people pay extra money to have sex with commercial sex workers without the use of condom, with the intention of spreading HIV through them.

“We have advised them not to accept or allow such a thing as their lives are equally important,’’ the project manager said.

According to Okoro, the prevalence of HIV had reduced drastically in the FCT with the agency’s massive enlightenment campaign, especially in 2016.

The United Nations Children’s Funds, UNCEF, has said that no fewer than 600 school teachers have lost their lives in the Lake Chad region ravaged by the Boko Haram insurgency.

The UN agency, in a statement made available to newsmen yesterday, revealed that the agency is targeting 158,900 Children to benefit from the training program, which is expected to run until the end of the year.

The statement said, schools are particularly vulnerable to bombings, attacks, and abductions by the insurgents but many lacked detailed safety plans.

“Boko Haram, whose name in the Hausa language means ‘Western Education is Forbidden’, has killed more than 600 teachers and forced over 1,200 schools to close during its eight-year insurgency in Nigeria, Niger, Cameroon and Chad.

“Three years ago, the abduction of more than 200 schoolgirls by the jihadist group in Chibok in northeastern Nigeria sparked global outrage.

“The training program, run in partnership with the European Union, encourages teachers to evaluate the risks facing their schools and helps them develop action plans so that students and teachers know what to do in case of emergency.

The event, which targeted aspiring and established female entrepreneurs, was organized by Africa’s famous blogger, Linda Ikeji.

Thousands of young women gathered last weekend at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island to witness the maiden edition of Linda Ikeji’s self-made conference an off-shoot of the “I’d rather be self made” project. The event, which targeted aspiring and established female entrepreneurs, was organized by Africa’s famous blogger, Linda Ikeji.

Addressing over 2000 young women during her opening speech, Linda Ikeji stressed on the importance for older and accomplished women to share their stories, experience and lessons learned on their journey with those who are on their way up. This, she added, will give a boost to young people’s choice of career while helping them work towards their goal.

Hip hop singer, Iyanya has insisted he is not jealous of Tekno’s success and says he is not surprised at how his career has risen.

Tekno has signed onto the Triple MG record label, which Iyanya left to pitch his tent with Mavin Records.

When asked in an interview with Punch, if he is envious of Tekno’s success, Iyanya simply said: “I am so happy for Tekno and his success and I am not surprised.

Cambodian actress, Denny Kwan, has been banned from working in the entertainment industry for a year, over her Facebook posts that was deemed too raunchy.

In a statement released through The Phnom Penh Post, the chief of the disciplinary council, Chamroeun Vantha, said that the council members decided to punish Denny Kwan by not allowing her to take part in any activities in the entertainment industry for one year, such as filming, karaoke and singing performances on TV after she violated the code of conduct of artists in the country.

Responding to the ban, Kwan accepted the one-year ban and promise to be less sexy.

Ahead of 'Star Wars' 40th anniversary, Japanese jeweler Tanaka Kikinzoku has unveiled a 24 karat gold sculpture of Darth Vader, one of the fictional character in the Star Wars franchise.
According to Japan Times, the 15kg (33 pounds) statue of the iconic sci-fi villain will sell at a hefty $1.4 million and will be available to purchase in Japan on May 4, being the 'Star Wars' Day.
The glowing gold helmet is currently on display at the jeweler’s main store Tokyo’s Ginza shopping district.

The jeweler also plans to release gold coins specially designed to celebrate the anniversary in the more affordable price range of $1,200 to $11,000 (about R15,9k to R145,9k).

Over the years, Tanaka has created other gold commemorative products including a Christmas tree, samurai helmets and a replica of footballer Lionel Messi's left foot.

Female Court Official Remanded In Prison Custody For N9.2m Fraud (Photos)

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday, April 28, 2017 arraigned a deputy chief registrar of the Ibadan

Divison of Oyo State High Court, Mutiat Omobola Adio, before Justice S. Olagunju of the Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan on a 2-count charge of fraud to the tune of N9.2million.
Adio allegedly collected the said sum as payment for a property located at Plot 10, Block XXIV, Bashorun Estate, Ibadan, sold to one Yekini Olonade, but failed to surrender the title documents of the property to him.
Efforts of the victim to either recover the money or have possession of the property yielded no result.
The offense is contrary to Section 1 (2) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act, 2006 and punishable under Section 1 (3) of the same Act.
One of the counts reads:
“That you, Ms Mutiat Omobola Adio on or about the 19th of December, 2016, at Ibadan within the Ibadan judicial Division of this Honourable court with intent to defraud, obtained the sum of Nine million and Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N9,200,000,00) only from one Alhaji Yekini Olonade through Kunle Abimbola by falsely pretending that it was part payment of the cost price of a building and land situate, lying and being at plot 10, Block XXLV, Bashorun Estate, Lagelu Local Government Area, Ibadan which you purported to have sold to him”.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.

An unusual family drama played out on Caso Cerrado, Spains's version of Judge Rinder, a TV court show that oversees a variety of cases on air. The husband, Alejandro, brought his wife, Tania, before the TV show host, Ana Maria Polo. Britain Accuses Ghana Lawmakers of Visa Fraud

Three Ghanaian lawmakers and a former lawmaker of visa fraud, have been accused by British authorities of visa fraud, saying the men abused their diplomatic privileges to help people travel to Britain.

Jon Benjamin, the British high commissioner to Ghana, described the men’s behaviour as “completely unacceptable” and said that in some cases, “these behaviours may arguably be criminal in nature.” His complaints were made in a letter to Ghana’s speaker of Parliament that was leaked to the news media on Wednesday.

The men were accused of falsifying visa documents and helping secure travel documents for family members who overstayed their visas. Each man faces a 10-year travel ban to Britain, according to the British authorities.

Woman deliver baby boy on a train at London Bridge station

A Black woman was delivered of a baby boy on a train at the busy London Bridge station on Thursday evening, April 27. She, whose name is not yet known, went into labour on a Southeastern train before being helped onto the platform when it arrived at London Bridge. Realising the baby was on the way, an announcement was made for doctors and nurses to attend,before she was moved to a medical room. She gave birth to her son shortly after 4.30pm.
Dean Parsons, 43, an information assistant at Southeastern Railway, told Evening Standard:

"I work in the control room but was doing work on the platform when a lady came running to my colleague and said there’s a lady on the train which had just pulled in having contractions. She collapsed on a bench on the platform. We called for the first aid officer from the station and put out an announcement for doctors and nurses".

The baby boy arrived before paramedics got to the scene, and he was delivered by an off-duty doctor.
Mr Parsons added:

Due to fear of extremism in the northwestern Muslim-majority region of Xinjiang, the Chinese government has listed dozens of 'extreme' Islamic names banned in the Xinjiang province.

The list titled 'Naming Rules For Ethnic Minorities' on the government document which was signed by the ruling Chinese Communist Party and disseminated by Uighur groups included 23 names related to historic religious, political figures and places that are deemed to be ‘overly religious’
The list includes ‘Imam,’ 'Hajj,’ 'Turknaz,' 'Mujahid,' 'Muhammad, 'Azhar' and 'Wahhab,' while 'Saddam,' 'Arafat,' 'Medina' and 'Cairo are also on the list.

According to the government ruling, if a parent chooses to name his/her child one of the barred names, the child will be denied government benefits in the country.

Confirming the ban, a government official told RFA.

‘You’re not allowed to give names with a strong religious flavor, such as Jihad or names like that. The most important thing here is the connotations of the name. It mustn’t have connotations of holy war or of splittism Xinjiang independence.' He said

23-year-old Nigerian Student Sentenced to 15 Years Imprisonment by High Court… Find Out Why

A 23-year-old man Nigerian student, was on Thursday, sentenced to a total of 15 years in prison by a High Court sitting in Jos, the Plateau state capital.

A Jos High Court on Thursday sentenced a 23- year-old man, Mathias Joseph, to 15 years in prison for attempting to rob a woman, Mrs Christabel Tongman of her car at gunpoint. Justice A. I. Ashom, sentenced Joseph after he pleaded guilty to the crime and begged the court for leniency.

Ashom, in a 16-paged judgment, pronounced the convict guilty of a three-count charge of attempted robbery, house trespass and illegal possession of a firearm.

The offences contravened Sections 2 (1and2) of the Robbery and Firearms ACT, CAP R11, 350 of the Penal Code of Northern Nigeria and 3 (1) of the Robbery and Firearms ACT, respectively.

“Going by the totality of evidence before this court from the prosecution, there was an attempted robbery and that the accused was involved in the attempt and was armed with a pistol.

“There was a motive by the accused to rob the victim and forcefully extract money and perhaps, other valuables from her. The fact that the said pistol was not tendered in evidence does not erase the evidence that a pistol was involved.

Lady who attempted suicide in Lagos, arraigned for attempted suicide, granted N500k bail
An Ebute-Meta Magistrates Court, Lagos, on Monday ordered a textile dealer, Mrs. Titilayo Momoh, to undergo psychiatric evaluation following her arraignment by the police for attempted suicide. .

Momoh, 58, was also granted N500,000 bail with two sureties in like sum. The woman was on March 24 stopped from jumping off the 3rd Mainland Bridge into the Lagoon by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command.

Then, Momoh, who lives in Lekki Lagos, disclosed that she was pushed to committing suicide in order to put an end to her constant sleeplessness and shame occasioned by her indebtedness to 3 Swiss textile dealers. .

Justice O. Efreti Abang of the Federal High Court sitting in Asaba, Delta State has ordered that Mrs. Fidelia Omoile , a serving Independent National Electoral Commission’ s ( INEC) official in Isoko- South Local Government Area of Delta State, be remanded in prison custody following her arraignment on Monday, on a two- count amended charge, bordering on conspiracy and money laundering, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Omoile was docked for allegedly collecting the sum of N112,480,000.00 (One Hundred and Twelve Million, Four Hundred and Eighty Thousand Naira), as a bribe during the countdown to the 2015 Presidential election.

She was among the over 100 INEC Officials that allegedly collected part of the $115million (N23bn) disbursed by a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison- Madueke, during the countdown to the 2015 presidential election.

Omoile was arrested on 11 April, 2016 following an intelligence received by the EFCC on the activities of some INEC Staff, who allegedly connived with some Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs), in defrauding the Federal Government huge sums of money, running into millions of Naira.

Teenage couple commit suicide Couple goals dead(video/photos)

A teenage couple from Cincinnati, Ohio have committed suicide just days apart and it turns out they left suicide notes and a video on social media before carrying out the act.

18-year-old Mercedes Shaday Smith and 17-year-old Markeice "Mari" Brown had been known as a couple, so when Mercedes killed herself in her dorm room at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky last Thrusday,
her friends believed Mari contributed to his girlfriend's suicide so they harrassed him online because of it. The harrassment, along with the grief of losing Mercedes, drove Mari to take his life on Saturday.

Mari shared a note and a farewell video on Facebook Live before committing suicide. It can be gleaned from Mari's suicide note that Mercedes was pregnant at the time of her death and they had plans to "go out together.". He also revealed in the note that her family would not let him go to her funeral so he decided to go and see her in the afterlife.

Multiple reports had indicated that he had died of a cardiac arrest, but the indigenes of his home town, Ede, insisted that they wanted to know the cause of his death on the assumption that his death was not natural.

It was gathered that there was confusion in his home town on Sunday, given the decision to return the body to Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital, LAUTECH, Osogbo, for an autopsy.

The development resulted in traffic gridlock across major streets in Osogbo, as supporters made bonfires across the town to register their anger.

Indigenes of Ede staged a protest at all entry points to the town, following suspicion that the former governor might have been poisoned as a result of his governorship ambition.

While speaking in an exclusive interview in the last edition of Saturday Sun, the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman, vowed not to allow allegations made against him by his alleged side chick, Miss Stephanie Otobo, go unchallenged.

The outspoken preacher who spoke through his Media Advisor, Phrank Shaibu, in Auchi, Edo state, dismissed Otobo’s claims, and challenged her to go to court to prove all her allegations.

How do you react to recent claims by Stephanie on her relationship with Apostle Suleman?

It is not for her to probe the wisdom of the mother in going to beg for forgiveness. The mother has done what she felt was right and we have responded to the mother’s appeal for forgiveness. Can’t you guys see the contradiction in the claim of being poisoned by Apostle? First, she claimed that the poison was given to her by Apostle in a hotel. Next she said it was in a dream. Perhaps, she would come up with another bizarre tale. Seriously, even my three -year- old daughter can do better.

She also alleged that if Apostle presents his international passport, and places it side by side her’s, it will reveal that both of them travelled together on a certain day to Canada. What do you say to this?

A former minister of Aviation, Femi David Fani Kayode has claimed that President Muhammadu Buhari is so sick.

According to him, the president’s condition is so bad that he is only seen at mosque on Fridays.

Some of you may have heard the gist about Davido and Ice Prince's face off in Warri last night, now let's give you all the juicy details.

Last night, an event (Delta Alive) organised by Shina Peller (owner of Quilox night club) went down in Warri. The show had Davido, Lil Kesh, Ice Prince, CDQ and others as headliners.

According to an inside source, trouble started from the airport when Davido was picked up in a G-Wagon while Ice Prince was picked up with a saloon car.

The gesture infuriated Ice Prince and he let the organisers know he wasn't pleased. Davido got to hear of his complains and was angry too.

Then the issue escalated during the concert when Ice Prince was made to perform before Lil Kesh, a move that's seen as an insult to the bigger artiste.

Ice Prince made it an issue back stage and Davido who had been boiling from the car complaint and obviously a close friend of Lil Kesh jumped in defence of Kesh and things got messy.

The Food and Drug Administration says medications containing codeine or tramadol should not be given to children. The body also warns that these drugs could cause serious risks including difficulty in breathing and death.

The agency announced the new restrictions on the medications on Thursday April 20, 2017 in a statement that reads,
'these medications carry serious risks, including slowed or difficult breathing and death, which appear to be a greater risk in children younger than 12 years, and should not be used in these children'.
The labels of all prescription medications containing codeine or tramadol will now restrict their use in children under 12 and recommend against their use in children between 12 and 18 years of age.

Additionally, the FDA recommends breastfeeding mothers not take these medications due to the risk of serious adverse reactions in breastfed infants.

The attack starkly highlighted the difficulty of the long struggle by the Afghan government and its international backers to defeat the Taliban insurgency.

After arriving in Mazar-i-Sharif to visit the base on Saturday, Ghani ordered that flags be flown at half mast on Sunday in memory of the troops who died.

Late Onuora Nzekwu

Chief Onuora Nzekwu, the founding General Manager of News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), has died at the age of 89, the family confirmed on Saturday.
Nzekwu, the author of Eze Goes to School, a novel, died by 4.30p.m. on Friday in his home in Onitsha, Anambra, where he had been living in retirement, a family member, Mr Louis Chuke, said. Nzekwu joined the Federal Civil Service as an editorial assistant at the Nigeria Magazine Division of the Federal Ministry of Information. He worked as an editorial assistant from 1956 to 1958 when took over the position of editor-in-chief of the magazine. In 1966 when the Nigerian civil war broke out, he transferred his services to the Eastern Nigeria Public Service and returned to the federal service at the end of the crisis in 1970. NIGERIAN POLICE RESCUE TWO KIDNAPPED TURKISH MEN

ABUJA - Nigerian police have rescued two Turkish men kidnapped earlier this month in the country's southeast, a police official said on Saturday.

The pair, who worked for a construction company, were abducted on 11 April in the town of Eket in Akwa Ibom state, in the country's Niger Delta energy hub. Kidnapping for ransom is common in some parts of Nigeria.

"The two Turkish nationals were rescued by police on the 19th of April," said Okechukwu Chukwu, a deputy superintendent in Akwa Ibom state.

"No casualty was recorded during their rescue but five suspects were arrested. No ransom was paid, and investigations are ongoing. The Turks have been reunited with their families."

There was an increase in crime in the Niger Delta last year that coincided with a series of attacks on energy facilities. There have been no militant attacks on energy installations so far this year.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has suspended its earlier directive on the implementation of cashless policy.

In a circular released on Friday, the apex bank instructed banks to revert to old charges and refund customers who had been debited.

CBN had earlier announced new charges on deposit and withdrawals above a threshold of N500,000.

The apex bank had directed banks to charge 5% and 10% for deposits and withdrawals above N40m in the corporate category.

The bank had fixed 1.5% and 2% for deposits ranging from N500,000 and N1 million in the individual category.

But in the circular signed by Dipo Fatokun, director, banking and payments system department, CBN said the existing policy before the announcement of the new policy shall remain in place in Lagos, Ogun, Kano, Abia, Anambra, Rivers and Abuja.

“You will recall that a directive was issued on the nationwide implementation of the cashless policy vide our circulars with reference numbers BPS/DIR/GEN/CIR/04/001 dated February 21 and BPS/DIR/GEN/CIR/04/002 dated March 16,” the circular read.

“Please note that the new withdrawal and deposit processing fee charges above the threshold, as contained in the circulars referenced above, are hereby suspended until further notice. The position of the policy shall now revert to the status quo ante.”

The old charges to be reverted to 3% processing fee for withdrawals above N500,000 in the individual category and 5% for withdrawals above N3 million.
